Module 6
Your Purpose (What You Do)

YOUR PURPOSE

What problem do you want to solve? How do you want to experience your world?

Your purpose is the manifestation of your internal passion, your limitless value. The only limits you place on your contribution to the world is how you choose to act in you life, which is driven by how you feel, which is created by how you think and what you believe about yourself and the world.

Your passion is how you want to experience yourself – your purpose is how you want to experience the world. It’s the external action you take to create the results in your life – all the effects of your actions. This includes money, environment, creation, and contribution. You determine where and how you live, how much money you create and invest, what you decide to create with your passion, and what you contribute with your creation. That is all a part of your purpose. Your purpose is the exchange, or relationship, between yourself (as an inner being) and the world (as an outer doing).

Your purpose is the river at provides sustenance for everyone who drinks from it.

ABUNDANCE vs. SCARCITY

What is abundance? What is scarcity?

Usually when I describe the abundance/scarcity model, I use the ‘glass is half full vs. glass is half empty’ analogy. You know, how to do see this neutral experience of a glass being on a table with water in it? Is the glass half-full of water or half-empty of water? Then you make a choice; pessimist or optimist, scarcity or abundance.

But abundance isn’t about seeing what exists in the whole relative to what’s missing. Abundance is about seeing the whole of the whole, what is there and what is also there. You see? Abundance isn’t saying the glass is half full of water and the rest is empty. Abundance is saying the glass is full completely; part water and part air – all full in perfection with nothing ‘missing’ or out of place.

When is comes to living your purpose, developing an abundance mindset helps you in many ways. First, there is nothing you can’t do. Nothing. The only things you can’t do are the limits you put on yourself with your own beliefs. You can drive race cars, be a professional athlete, or walk on Mars. Yes, you can do things that no one has every done before. How do I know? Because before someone did it for the first time, no one had done ANYTHING before. People are breaking down the barriers and limits of what the brain believes is possible all the time and it all begins with the abundance mindset. You MUST believe in what’s possible for you – which is the power to choose anything you can imagine.

You also live in abundance through how you take action in walking your purpose. This is a distinction I want you to understand. Your validation and approval for what you do and who you are comes from yourself, never from other people. NEVER. The abundance of opinions, perspectives, and belief systems are what makes humans unique individuals. You can never do something that all humans will agree with. Even the Greatest Teachers didn’t reach all people – which is why the world has so many Great Teachers. Having people disagree with you and reject your offer, your contribution, your value, or your purpose is a part of living in abundance. It’s in contrast and balance to the people who will agree with you and support your purpose. Haters gonna hate and ainters gonna aint. Let the haters hate – it’s all a part of abundance, it’s a part of the whole.

With an infinite amount of possibility and opportunity (and infinite amount of opinions ABOUT the infinite amount of possibility and opportunity), it’s easy to fall into scarcity and start limiting your choices about what’s possible. The isn’t half full, remember? It’s ALL FULL. You can choose ANYTHING and there are people in the world who are waiting for your particular brand of value to help them help themselves change their lives. The world longs for what you have to offer. There is no limit to what you offer or how you offer it.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO TO FULFILL YOUR PURPOSE?

Okay, now you know your purpose and you know who you need to be. The next step is deciding what to do. Don’t make it huge and cumbersome so you overwhelm yourself. Pick one thing at a time. Pick one area of focus. It might be your job, your home life, your career, or your volunteer work, but only pick one at a time to go all in. Pick your one big accomplishment, and then decide everything you would need to do to achieve it.

Let’s say it’s making $100k in your business.

Pick a time frame.

Then make a list of all the big and little things you need to do to make it happen. Include the things you need to learn, the mind management you will need to do, and the offers you will need to make. Then put them in order and on the calendar. Get to work on your purpose.

“But wait,” you say. “That feels uncomfortable. I thought my purpose was supposed to feel amazing and purposeful and effortless and easy. This feels hard.”

Yeah. Sorry about that. Living your purpose will be hard. But hard is worth it. Hard feels good. Hard is what makes easy possible. You can’t have anything easy without equal parts hard.

You are not going to want to do it – do it anyway.

Do it because you said you would.

Do it for you.

Thank yourself for doing it.

Do it because you really want the result it will create.

It’s so easy not to do it. And you are welcome to live easy. Except, remember – you can’t escape hard, ever. You will either have the hard of doing it or the hard of not doing it. I promise, the hard of doing it is way better.

This course is about being and then doing your purpose.

If you really want to have more purpose, stop looking for it, and start doing it.
