Module 3: Emotions
“We don’t take action to get results. We take action because of how we think we will feel when we have the result.”
Fear – The Illusion of Pain and Loss
Fear is an amazing thing.
Fear is necessary and debilitating at the same time.
The fear that is necessary allows us to build courage.
It comes from the Beta Condition and used for survival.
As children, we need fear to learn about the world and how to survive.
As adults, we don’t need fear to survive anymore but we continue to live in the Beta Condition of fear and survival.
Fear is an emotion, just like love and self-confidence.
It comes from a thought.
Fear is usually irrational because it comes from thought about the past or the future.
Fear is an emotion and it comes from a thought, the thought that creates fear has to be afraid of the known.
We are never afraid of the unknown.
We can not be afraid of what we don’t know.
We are not afraid of death, we are afraid of not having life.
Fear, in all forms, is the loss of what is known.
There is fear in change.
There is fear in losing my money, or losing my job.
There is fear in fear in other people’s opinions and what they think about us.
There is fear of failure and there is fear of success.
Fear is always the loss of identity.
Fear is the state of death for the Beta Condition.
When the Beta Condition perceives a threat, it creates a thought that produces fear.
This emotion of fear creates an action, which produces a result.
That result, as you know from The Model, will re-enforce the original thought.
The original thought protects the Beta Condition.
Fear is the strengthening of the Beta Condition, the ego, the identity of the self.
This is why it is the real illusion – it perpetuates the illusion the Beta Condition creates to keep it strong.
With confidence, you can overcome fear.
Confidence remind us what fear is: an emotion.
It is only a vibration in our cells; a physiological change happening in our body at the cellular level.
There is nothing to be afraid of – fear, an emotion, can not hurt us.
Courage can also overcome fear.
Courage is the movement of the Alpha State into a position of above the Beta Condition.
Courage allows you to act in spite of fear.
Courage is not the Alpha State but it brings the Alpha State into position.
Fear is so interesting – it’s usefulness outweighs it’s uselessness.
Watch the video below for a deeper explanation of fear, how it is useful for us to create courage, why it exists for all humans and fear itself is nothing to be afraid of, where anxiety comes from, and what you can do remove irrational, psychological fear from your mind.

Self-Study Assignment for Module 3, Day 6
In your notebook, do a thought download every day this week. For this week, start with a specific circumstance to do your thought download on. It can be anything that is a circumstance – it must be neutral and objective. It can be what someone said or did, something that happened in the past, or something that is happening now (it’s raining outside or your current body weight). Do a model for two of the thoughts in your download.
In your notebook, make two lists (1 page each) then answer questions:
List #1: Make a list of all the areas of your life where you have no fear.
Next to those areas, write down the reason (thought) you feel this way.
Make sure you fill up the page.
Example: pouring a glass of water –> believe I can do it.
List #2: Write down everything you’re currently afraid of that holds you back.
Go for the worst case scenarios.
Evaluate what you think about be horrible about failing.
Just like the previous like, include the fear and the reason (thought).
Example: afraid of losing all my money –> I’ll be homeless and unloved
Example: making a mistake –> people will reject me
Let’s remove the barrier.
We’re going to take a deep dive into your ‘everyone’ and what ‘everyone will think.’
You’ll decide from now on only to take action based on what YOU think.
What do people think about you now?
If you went for all your dreams and achieved them, what would people think?
If you went for all your dreams and failed, what would people think?
If what ways are people right about you? So what?
In what ways are they wrong about you?
Are you willing to let them be wrong? Why or why not?
What are you committed to believing about yourself no matter what other people may or may not think?
Are you ready to let go of other people’s opinions? Why or why not?
